About Newmillerdam Country Park

This attractive country park offers a rich and varied country landscape, it is dominated by a large lake ringed by numerous trees where you can find wildlife habitats. Fishing is available on the lake, and there are lovely woodland glades offering quiet strolls to explore the flora and fauna of the countryside.

The woods are planted with oaks, conifers, beech and sycamore, here you can see any number of wild plants and flowers whilst enjoying peaceful birdsong from bushes and trees. Creatures of the wild include grey squirrel's, rabbits and foxes.

The Lake provides an important breeding ground for Grebe, and it is not unusual to spot Heron feeding in the shallow waters.

A two mile walk circles the dam, but should you feel really energetic you can extend this by not crossing the causeway and continuing to the nearby village of Notton.

The park is ideal for a relaxing family day out, there are bridle paths for horses, an orienteering course, picnic spots, lovely walks, and in the village there is a choice of pubs, a cafe and a restaurant.
